Awareness among communities through local Festivals
The Indus for All Programme’s implementation unit at Keti Bunder held a local festival on 31 March 2009, to spread the message of nature conservation through folk music, local comedians and interactive theatre. The chief guest of evening was Ms. Humera Alwani, Member Sindh Assembly. She appreciated the efforts of WWF Pakistan for making sincere efforts to save biodiversity of the Indus Delta and acknowledged local community support for the Programme’s interventions at Keti Bunder. The event was graced by performances of local school children through tableau, skits and folk music focused on the theme of nature conservation. Approximately 1500 community members, both male and female from numerous villages of Keti Bandar took part in the event.
