Three days training workshop on Proposal Development conducted

A three days capacity building training workshop on Proposal Development was organized for partner Civil Society Organizations of four programme sites from May 23-25, 2011 at Hyderabad. Twenty one members representing CBOs and CDOs from four sites participated in training workshop. Mr. Shahzad Bukhari GM four corner group was the lead Resource Person of the workshop, whereas Mr. Farhan Memon was co- facilitator of the workshop.

The objective of the training was to build the capacity of civil society organizations (particularly women groups) to develop project proposal with clear vision, realistic and measurable development outcomes and diversify the resources required to sustained organizations in long term.

The workshop covered various subjects including definition of project, common reasons of proposals rejection, planning of proposal writing, diagram of problem, setting objectives, outline of project proposal, monitoring & evaluation, sustainability, project appraisal, general writing tips for writing project proposal, gender and development of concept paper.

The Small Grants and Ambassador’s Fund Program (SGAFP) format for project proposal was used as a model in the training.

Interactive and participatory training methodology was adopted; a variety of methodologies including group work, presentation, discussion and individual and buzz group exercises that acknowledged and respect the knowledge of participants were conducted in training. Participants received certificate at a closing ceremony at the end of the training workshop. Participants in their feedback  appreciated the efforts taken by Indus for All programme to strengthen Partner organizations in Programme area. In the closing ceremony, Mr. Nasir Ali Panhwar (Programme Coordinator), Ms. Shahzadi Tunio (Programme Sociologist) and Mr. Shahzad Bukhari (Trainer) highlighted the role of CBOs in development and significance of capacity building of CBOs. They hoped that the training would enable the CBOs to develop project proposals on their own.
