World Wetlands Day Celebrated at Keenjhar Lake

World Wetlands Day (WWD) is being celebrated all over the world on 2 February each year. The purpose of celebrating the day is to highlight the importance of wetlands and spread awareness regarding threats to wetland issues and means of overcoming these. In this regard the Programme celebrated WWD at Keenjhar Lake in collaboration with local schools, Communities and Karachi university students.

The event consisted of four sub events: a seminar, awareness raising walk, lake cleaning and the installation of a dustbin at Keenjhar Lake picnic point.
