PWP, WWF - P strongly believes that environment education starts at a very young age. Keeping this in mind, PWP has been conducting Wetlands awareness campaigns for various schools. The campaigns are targeted towards children of primary schools, as we believe that they can make a difference to our present and future.
All the campaigns place a lot of emphasis on interaction and discussions with children on various good environmental habits and their views on how to protect and sustain our environment in general and wetlands in special. Along with group discussions, presentations and quiz competitions are conducted that target specific age groups. Wetlands environmental Activity booklets are compiled and distributed to every child. Every child plants his/her plant during the campaign. The aim of such planting activity is to help a child understand the importance of protecting our trees. The children are then entrusted with the responsibility of caring for their plants within their schools. Interesting, interactive and very attractive promos are produced on the beautiful poems written by Nasir Malik shared with students.
This experience shows the increasing number of children that PWP, WWF - P has attempted at educating across various schools and regions in Pakistan. Here are the pictures of these campaigns in two extreme different schools, first one is Wahid International School which caters affluent and the second one is educating underprivileged but our approach is same to both.
