Energy, an essential part of our life is also involving to generate environmental problems as well as
the economical issues all over the world including Pakistan. According to the Ministry of Finance, Pakistan the cumulative effect of the energy crisis on country’s economy is estimated at upward of 2 percent of GDP during 2009-10 alone. Such awful situation has led us to develop the renewable energy sources.
Renewable Energy is an alternative form generated by natural sources such as wind, rain, sunlight etc. It is not only economical but also environment friendly.
In order to boost up awareness about such alternate energy sources WWF - P arranged an exhibition on Renewable Energy Technologies at Nathiagali on June 19th -20th, 2010.
Including different commercial companies, Pakistan Wetlands Programme’s team also participated for told event in the supervision of Director Regional Programme, PWP, Mr. Ahmad Khan.
Pakistan Wetlands Programme has installed biogas plants, solar-wind hybrid systems at different sites of the country in collaboration with Dairy Pakistan and Pakistan Council of Renewable Energy Technologies. PWP has brought innovation to the bio-gas technology by introducing “Fiberglass accumulator” in collaboration with Mehcon International.
The exhibition gone outstanding as a number of peoples visited and showed keen interests for adopting the alternate energy resources.
Let’s contribute our part and break dependence on vanishing fossil fuels.
