For over two decades, WWF-Pakistan has been committed to providing quality environmental education. WWF-Pakistan’s school outreach has succeeded in stimulating student’s imaginations, and promoting environmental consciousness among peers and parents alike.
Keeping in mind the lack of opportunities for young people to get actively involved in environmental conservation WWF-Pakistan decided to introduce the Eco Internship Programme.
This six session long summer Internship is held for students from class 8 and above across Pakistan. These interactive sessions give students an insight into the eco dynamics and environmental challenges of the region. They include in depth presentations by WWF experts on a diverse range of topics including water conservation, alternative energy and nature photography. Hands on activities like preparing a biogas models, interactive discussions, creative challenges and an enriching exposure visits.
Students will also receive a certificate after the successful completion of the internship affiliating them with a global organization.
WWF-Pakistan would like to thank the Beaconhouse School System, MERCK and English Biscuit Manufactures in assisting in the successful completion of the Eco Internship Programme 2010.
WWF Pakistan has a long history of working with the private sector to find new and innovative solutions to the far reaching environmental challenges. The Employees’ Corporate Club will further this initiative by engaging the employees of companies into direct nature conservation through the Individual Membership programme.
The purpose is to spread eco awareness and create an environmentally conscious group of individuals who can effect change.
Under this programme orientation Sessions are held in company’s offices by WWF experts. Here employees will be told about the environmental challenges and motivated to donate to the cause through membership. After registering the employees have the option of deducting their membership donation from their paycheck on a monthly basis. They will then start an environmental awareness programme and receive membership benefits.
